St Margaret’s Day and Archive Open Day, November 2026

This is a warm invitation to a weekend of reunion and celebration around St Margaret’s Day in November 2026. There are two events organised specifically for former St Margaret’s pupils, staff, families and friends. Tickets are not required and there is no need to confirm attendance, simply turn up on the day. We really look forward to seeing you at one or both events:

Friday, 13 November, 2026 – the St Margaret’s Singers have once again been invited to celebrate St Margaret’s Day at St Mary’s Cathedral, Palmerston Place, Edinburgh, EH12 5AW, after Evensong, from 5.30pm. We hope to see many of you there (and please join the choir for light refreshments and a chance to catch up afterwards).

Saturday, 14 November, 2026 – when St Margaret’s School closed in 2010, a number of significant items were saved: uniform, photographs, chronicles/newsletters, tapestries, trophies and much more. Initially these were housed in a secure storage facility, until a very generous offer was made by St George’s School, to relocate the St Margaret’s School archive. In 2025, St George’s extended their own archive and as part of the development a new, easily accessible location for the St Margaret’s archive has been created. We are delighted to let you know that there will be a St Margaret’s School Archive Open Day, on Saturday, 14 November, 2026, from 10am to 1.30pm, at St George’s School, to which former St Margaret’s pupils, staff and families are warmly invited.
